RE: Zoning Modernization (zMod)

Message from the Broyhill Park Civic Association as forwarded from the Mason District Council of Community Associations

Over 70 speakers testified at the March 9th public hearing held by the Board of Supervisors on the county’s new draft zoning ordinance (“zMod”), which contains controversial proposed changes that loosen regulations on accessory apartments in single-family detached homes (ALUs), Home-Based Businesses (HBBs) and outdoor Accessory Structures. The vast majority of speakers opposed the proposed changes because of concerns over negative impacts on neighborhoods (unplanned density, commercialization).

Broyhill Park Residents are urged to send your concerns about these changes to the Board of Supervisors. You have until early on March 23, the date of the next BoS meeting.
